One of the most renowned comic authors in Europe
GABRIELLA GIANDELLI: A TORONTO RETROSPECTIVE

The Italian Cultural Institute, under the auspices of the Consul General of Italy, is proud to present a retrospective exhibition of Gabriella Giandelli. On exhibit over 80 original drawings of one the most prolific Italian illustrators and graphic novelists, including the celebrated series Interiorae. The artist will be in attendance.

Gabriella Giandelli will be a guest featured at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival taking place on Saturday, May 5 and Sunday May 6 at the Toronto Public Library, 789 Yonge St., Toronto.

Gabriella Giandelli was born in Milan in 1963. She published her first comics in 1984 and soon established herself as one of the most important comic authors in Europe. Her graphic novels have apparead in volumes published by Coconinopress (Italy) Seuil and Actes-Sud (France), Fantagraphic Books (USA). She has collaborated with Le Monde (France) and she is currently collaborating weekly with La Repubblica. She has been a regular collaborator for Internazionale for the past 12 years.
Her illustrations have appeared in Italy for Il manifesto, Il Sole 24 Ore, Marie Claire, Vanity, Urban, Flair. Her work has appeared as cover art for volumes published by Feltrinelli, Einaudi, Mondadori, Ponte alle Grazie, Minimumfax. She has worked as a designer for Alchimia, Memphis, Alessi, and Swatch. Her children’s serial character “Milo”, featured in numerous volumes published in Italy by Mondadori, has recently been adapted for television in Italy and France. Her single and collective exhibitions include shows in Italy, France, Spain, Portugal and America. She lives and works in Milan.
